cleanliness
instead. It was very clean and they were good with cleaning our room. The Hotel is very close to Empire State Building. Sorry to say we didn´t have any view out to the street from our room - then we have had to lean out and nearly break our neck to see which kind of weather it should be :-) No breakfast included in the price - we hade to search for a café close by every morning." |

| Hudson - "The first impression is very positive". The staff welcomed us when we stepped out from the taxi and took care of our luggage. The Hotel is very
neat and tidy
and is design by Philippe Starck. The ligtning is very soften and everything is to our satisfaction how it looks. The staff could be a little forced on - to nice sometimes. Very good service - but they forgot to inform us about that they have made a withdrawal from our VISA card - deposit fee 300 USD. We got the amount back one day after we had checked out from the Hotel. The amount was also hard to follow on our account and we had to ask the personnel to get everything cleared out. The rooms are very small and there are no refrigirator at the room, no wardrobe or drawers to put your clothes in. You could only hang your clothes on 7
clothes hangers. They had a nice cosy library were you could relax and get access to internet (5 USD) and they also had two nice bars really worth visiting. These bars can bee recommended - one mojito for 14 USD. Nearest subway at 59th street Columbus Circle." |

This Hotel is situated in the nice area Upper West Side just a fiew blocks from Central Park and Museum of Natural History. It´s a charming Hotel built 1901-1903, 190 rooms and with 9 floors. The Hotel have had prominent guests like Mark Twain and has also been i couple of films like"Law and Order" and "Ransom". It takes approx 40 minutes to walk down to Times Square. Refrigirator and TV at the room. Hypoallergenic pillows and comforters.

 Belleclaire - The Hotel is located in a nice area in Upper West Side. We really enjoyed the calm area. We stayed in a double room at the 9th floor. We had two seperate beds and the bathroom in the corridor. Our room felt "big" and we got room with our two big suitcases and could also leave som clothes in the wardrobe. Very fresh and soft beds - we slept like queens. They are famous for their "Hypoallergenic pillows and comforters". Narrow corridors - but you don´t spend time there! The bathroom were only two steps away from our room, small but clean. TV in the room. Personnel was nice and friendly. Refrigirator in the room and a washbasin - nice to have when you want to clean yourself and brush your teeth. New towels every day. Internet access in a small shop in the lobby - if you need to mail home. Two blocks to the nearest subway. You can have breakfast just around the corner or visit some of the cafees or restaurants in the area. Access to
Fitness Center if you like. Aircondition in the room- a little bit noise, but not to loud. Nice shopping area - among other Filenes Basement and Loehmann. Around the area you have theatres, shops, cafees, churches etc. |

 Empire - Nice Hotel that is located opposite to Lincoln Center. Good location if you want to walk to Central Park and down to Times Square and Fifth Avenue. Modern rooms with flat screen and a full refrigirator with snacks and drinks - were shall we put our water and juice? Nice fine bathroom in wood and tile. The room had a kingsize bed and it was enough for us - but there were to much pillows on the bed. We had to place them (6) somewere in the room. Tough to get room with our two big suitcases - no drawers to keep our clothes in - just some clothes hangers in the small wardrobe. Silent aircondition. Big desk in the room - we wonder what we shall use that for? The staff were friendly and often ask us or talked to us when we left or arrived to the Hotel. Breakfast included in the lobby - some hectic but they told us that they should have a seperat room for this in the future. This area do not have so much shopping - you need to walk down to Times Square or a bit up to Upper West Side. Their Pool were not opened yet - to our dissapointment. It shall open in late September. |
